Bradco Cold Planer Adjusts for Precision Cutting

Construction Equipment Guide

The Bradco cold planer by Paladin Construction Group, available in standard- and high-flow models, attaches to skid steers to mill asphalt and concrete surfaces in open and confined spaces. Its independent depth adjustment side plates allow for precise lapping and taper cuts, while the high rear spoil clearance reduces recirculation of material. The planetary drive delivers high torque and durability and the angled spoil guard wheel design prevents the wheels from riding up and over millings. This provides a flat surface for the wheels to ride on, reducing rolling resistance, and allowing for consistent control over the depth of the cut. A 25-in. (64 cm) left to right side shift feature and removable right side plate allow for working next to curbs or other obstructions.

The Bradco cold planer is ideal for asphalt and concrete pothole and frost heave repair, curb cutting, pavement texturing for improved skid resistance and roadway removal around manholes. A standard-flow model is available with a 12-in. (30.5 cm) cutting width to operate with hydraulic flows of 12 to 22 gpm (45 to 83 Lpm). Five high-flow models are available in cutting widths from 16 to 40 in. (41 to 102 cm) and operate with flows from 22 to 40 gpm (83 to 151 Lpm).

The controls can be factory furnished with magnetic base joystick electric controls, or an optional wire harness to provide in-cab fingertip controls to operate side shift, tilt and cutting depth on high-flow models. Shields for hydraulic and electrical components help protect against unnecessary wear and tear. An optional water kit to reduce dust and increase pick life by up to 30 percent comes standard with a 30-gal. (113.5 L) tank and electric water pump. The nozzles and hoses required for the water kit are furnished with the Bradco Cold Planer.
