Due to the volume of items for sale, simultaneous bidding took place at the company’s indoor auction area and in the yard.

Mike Holman of Mike Holman Excavating ventured into the yard for a closer look at this Vermeer D16x20 directional drill.

Jim Reed of Jim’s Equipment came in from Ohio in search of skid steers at the auction and decided to try out this Bobcat S250.

Don Smock Auction Company conducted its 26th annual summer auction at the company's auction complex in Pendleton, Ind., on June 15. The auction attracted an enthusiastic crowd of bidders from Indiana and surrounding states to the sale site and also drew active online bidding.

While a crowd of attendees gathered in the indoor theater-style bidding area to bid on equipment as it crossed the ramp, another group bid on equipment that was being auctioned off in the yard. The auction featured a variety of cranes, excavators, crawler tractors, loader backhoes, scrapers, skid steer loaders and attachments along with various types of trucks and support equipment.

Steve Hendrickson, president of Interstate Machinery, based in Indianapolis, frequently attends the auctions and said that the folks at Don Smock Auction Company are great to work with and there's always a strong selection of quality equipment up for bid.

Founded in 1990, Don Smock Auction Company Inc. holds four major auctions at the company's all-weather facility in Pendleton, Ind., and also conducts onsite auctions throughout the Midwest. As well as conducting auctions focused primarily on used construction, transportation and agricultural equipment, the company also conducts estate and real estate auctions and offers additional services.
