The McHenry Avenue Corridor Improvements project consists of the replacement of an existing two lane bridge that spans the Stanislaus River with a new 1,138 ft. (347 m), 78.5-ft. (24 m)-wide, five-frame bridge with 17,000 linear ft. (5,182 m) of stone column ground improvements.

Sterling Construction Company Inc. announced that Myers & Sons Construction is the apparent low bidder on a $21.9 million bridge project in Stockton, Calif. The McHenry Avenue Corridor Improvements project consists of the replacement of an existing two lane bridge that spans the Stanislaus River with a new 1,138 ft. (347 m), 78.5-ft. (24 m)-wide, five-frame bridge with 17,000 linear ft. (5,182 m) of stone column ground improvements. The project is scheduled to begin in April 2017, and is expected to be completed by mid-2020.

Paul J. Varello, Sterling's chief executive officer, commented, “We are pleased to have been selected by the County of San Joaquin to replace the existing bridge on McHenry Avenue. The McHenry Avenue Corridor Improvements project will significantly improve traffic circulation, safety, and air quality in Stockton, Calif.
